WHAT
is the People’s Council Café?

The People’s Council Café will be a Tel Aviv Beit Café (coffee shop) that will be socially responsible and will be a center buzzing with social activism, cultural events and - no less important - good food, a fun atmosphere and a place to relax.

The People’s Council Café will return its profits to the community by investing in social and cultural projects.

The People’s Council Café will be established by people from all over the world who will leave their unique marks by naming items in the real coffee shop. Once the café is established, it will operate independently on income from business operations.

HOW
can you be a part of the People’s Council?

1. Leave your mark and become a Bean Funder

As a social enterprise, our Bean Funders (rather than seed funders :) ) will be a significant part of building our initiative. Bean Funders can choose an item on the menu or within the café that will bear the name chosen by the funder. In this way, the People’s Council Café offers a remarkable way to leave a permanent mark in Tel Aviv.

Bean Funding is a unique way of ensuring that even when you are not here, you will be important to the community, culture and society of Tel Aviv.

2. Can I make a contribution as a gift?

Yes! This is a perfect gift for someone who cares about Israel and is celebrating a birthday, anniversary, making aliyah, or for any occasion.

3. Can organizations and companies also be Bean Funders?

Of course.

4. Make a donation easily and quickly

We accept donations of any size towards establishment of the café.

Be a part of it and have a place to feel at home when you are in Tel Aviv.

WHO
is behind the project?

Thirty-two year old Kinneret Yifrah is the young entrepreneur who established this project. She is motivated by a clear vision of a vibrant café that, in every aspect, is used for business and social activity. Kinneret is deeply connected to Tel Aviv, the community and the dynamic coffee shop scene. She is supported by a group of big-hearted professionals, business consultants, and mostly, a tight network of friends.

WHERE

does the money go?

When you pay by credit card through PayPal or by check to our address, the money goes to the People’s Council Café bank account at Bank Hapoalim in Israel and will be used solely to establish the People's Council Café. The process is supervised by a lawyer and an accountant, in full cooperation with the Israeli tax authorities.

>> What will we do with the money we raise? Read our Transparency page.

WHEN

will it happen?

As soon as we receive sufficient funding, the People’s Council Café will be on its way. We will find a suitable location, rent and renovate it, plan the menu and open the café.

At any time, you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out how the preparations are coming along and to find out about events that we will be holding in the near future.

WHAT IF

something goes wrong?

If the money necessary to open the People’s Council Café is not raised by June 2012, the contributions will be donated to:

  • The Association for the wellbeing of Israel's Soldiers
  • ELI – Israel Association for Child Protection
  • The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel

* These organizations have no organizational, personal or other affiliation with the People’s Council Café.

So, whatever happens, your money will go towards improving Israeli society.
